At Catchfly, we believe doing better for the planet doesn’t need to be loud or flashy—it just needs to be honest, thoughtful, and consistent.
We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to making responsible choices and improving where we can.
Recycled Threads
We use embroidery threads made from recycled plastic bottles, collected by individuals experiencing homelessness—who are paid fairly for their work. It’s a small step that reduces waste and supports people who need it most.
Responsible Garments
Most of the clothing we supply is made with sustainability in mind—from organic cotton and recycled fabrics to Fair Wear certified production. We give you the option to choose more eco-conscious styles for your merchandise.
Smarter Packaging
All our orders are packed using compostable mailing bags and recycled cardboard boxes. It’s a simple switch, but it cuts down on waste and avoids unnecessary plastic.
Low-Waste Production
Embroidery is naturally low-waste, and we produce everything in small batches or on demand. That means we avoid overproduction, minimise waste, and don’t end up with unused stock gathering dust—or going to landfill.
We use DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional screen printing.
It doesn’t use screens or harsh chemicals
It wastes less ink and water
It’s ideal for printing on demand, meaning we only produce what’s needed
It’s not a perfect system, but it’s a better option than traditional methods—and we’re keeping a close eye on emerging materials and improvements that will make it even more sustainable.
We’re currently setting up a carbon offsetting initiative to help balance out the emissions from production and delivery. That includes supporting tree planting projects and other verified schemes here in Scotland. It’s one of several steps we’re taking to reduce our overall footprint.
We care about creating high-quality branded merchandise—and doing it in a way that’s mindful of our environmental impact. That means:
Being transparent about where we are and what we’re working on
Making small but meaningful changes in how we source, produce and pack
Partnering with suppliers who share our values
Giving our customers the option to make more sustainable choices
We’re continuing to explore:
Tracking the carbon footprint of our production process
Setting up in-house recycling or reuse options
Offering eco-friendly packaging add-ons for our shop clients
Partnering with more local and ethical businesses.
We know sustainability is a journey—and we’re in it for the long haul. If you have suggestions or want to know more about what we’re doing, we’d love to hear from you.
